| If it were me, having to go to the trouble of replacing one side I would do both sides. Sooner or later the other side will start leaking. Check the bearings while it's apart, too. |

The 2 axle types are "C" lock and Non "C" lock. You can tell which one you have by reading the code that is stamped on the front of the passenger side axle tube. Cleaning the surface is usually needed to see the stamped code.
The codes are in the Pontiac Service manual for your car. If you have a manual, you can look the codes up to see if it's a c-lock or non c-lock, and the manual shows you how to remove and install the axles, bearings, and seals. If you don't have a manual, post the codes here and we can translate. If you're going to keep your car, it's a good idea to get yourself a Pontiac Service manual for your year.
Here are some ways to tell which type you have, other than by the code. The C-lock axle uses C locks, sometimes called C-clips, on the tips of the axles to hold the axles in the rearend. The clips are installed inside the center of the carrier. When the clips are removed, the axle can be slid out of the housing easily by hand. The bearings and seals are installed in the rear end housing end holes.
The non c-lock doesn't use C locks as the name implies. The bearings are pressed onto the axles. Then the axle with bearing on it are hammered into the housing end and further retained with a square retainer plate and 4 bolts. To remove the axle on one of there, remove the 4 bolts of the retainer plate and then you must use an axle puller to pull the axle out.

No, I'm not trying to repop the system, just gather information for now. Would any sane person repop a collection of parts that only 25 people in the world want? The unobtanium air cleaner cover would be a challenge and hideously expensive.
BTW who here bought the red painted Ram air pan from VWMailman a couple of years ago? Is it for sale? |

Have a nasty LR wheel seal leaking on my 75 A body.I have sourced the seal but there are 2 different types, depending on the rearend the car is equipped with.
How can I find out what rearend my Pontiac has?
I know its a 10 bolt(probably corporate)
How difficult is it to change out this wheel seal? |

| I don't have pics yet of the glass parts what I need to do is get at least 12 sold orders to get started and after I have 12 paid orders then you can expect about 4-6 weeks for shipping plus shipping. Price is going to be $ $650.00 for a pair of front fenders and $850.00 for the Nasa hood . I putting up my own NOS fenders and hood to be made from . the parts are to made by a major fiberglass mgf. but I need 12 paid orders to start as I have to put up the money for the molds myself and then they will be made . You can all reach me for any info at 269-684-3085 in Niles MI. or again at rexs73gto@sbcglobal.net |

| One piece at a time. First step is to make engineering drawings of all the parts I can find. If you have the prints, then you can make the parts when an opportunity comes up. There are better ways to make low volume parts than there were 10 years ago. |
