Time for a good ole PB rant. They have a page on Face Book, please feel free to leave them your feedback and comments as I have just done....https://www.facebook.com/photobucket/  It looks like there are literally 1000s of complaints there already LOL

I'm not sure what if any legal rights they might have on photos I had uploaded to their site, so I went through and deleted all my photos under my account, which really sucks because all my posts with photos here are gone, basically they weren't there anyway once they blocked all 3rd party hosting and I would never pay their extortion fee of $400/yr.

I just cannot understand what makes their services so much better that warrants that subscription fee and even though it was a free service previously, it was so unuseable with all the ads and popups there, it would literally take 10 minutes to access a photo after clicking through the ads or waiting for the ads to load.

As of now, all photos of mine are deleted and so is my account. Has anyone found an alternative yet for our photo hosting?

Trying a test using Google Chrome.  According to the answers on how to post embedded pictures this picture should disappear in a few days.  Can you see the picture now?  Some post say not everyone can see the picture.
Posted this today 12-30-17 At 1:12PM.

Looks like a problem reducing the picture.  can't figure how to make the picture any smaller.  Any suggestions?  Changed the width and height but the second picture is the smallest the picture would post.

Try and try again. Made it smaller finally!!!  Might work making an Avatar again if the pictures don't disappear. Anyone else tried using Google Chrome for pictures?

I did keep my photo-bucket account as I had many pictures there, I choose the lowest cost option, I think was $50/yr or so

Testing. I'll give this a try and see how it works as well. Out of curiosity I wonder if Chrome will also work for our personalized photo that appears next to our name that is entered in our profile info. So far my guess is No as I have also tried it with no luck yet.

Keven, using Google Chrome to make it work you need to add some code and where to get the link.  After opening your picture right click on the photo.  (copy image address) Do not use the address bar or their get their code. It should look like this:
https://lh3.googleuoIcooooooooooooook2zCJYpFv1L0Q2DSg9aRm0nwuYnZXRrI9Pexh2o1d2ypHH3gvpbv3hNhAiIEwOd5ZduaoFwb8fQRRQG8TO_qIIGccmYJdOKZzO8=w820-h615-no

The hard part is adding the code.  ?.jpg  to the end and the ending making sure it would look like this:
qIIGccmYJdOKZzO8=w820-h615-no?.jpg  The w820-h615 is the picture size.  The moderators suggest using something smaller like w620-h415?.  Would need clarification on how large is appropriate.

Tried setting up the avatar a few different ways.  It is not set up the same as posting embedded pictures.  Need help from Murray on that one.

Mark, $50.00 is not a bad price if you have a lot of pictures.  For posting an embedded picture only once in a while using Google Chromes is an interesting idea.

Keven, forgot to mention.  It was easier to set up this link using a word program.  After getting it right copy that link and post it to the Abody site using the 4th code from the left, the IMG IMG middle paste.

Roger, Great Minds Think Alike! LOL  Actually after examining your posts with photos added I actually was able to right click on the photos you added to get the link info that you used. I then used Word to copy n paste to look at these links closely and the one thing I noticed was the ".JPG" at the end of the link......after scratching my head for a few minutes, I finally put it together to add the extension at the end and included the normal container notation to complete it properly. I made several test replies to your comments and then deleted them to finally get it right. Somewhere in past forum discussions are Murray's info for the avatar requirements, I think the max jpg file size is like 85k, with a resolution of 320 x . Maybe if he see's our notes here he can clarify the resolution specs again for us. I have already put together tutorial instructions and I am just lacking the avatar resolution to complete and test. THANK YOU Roger for finding and trying this out as this can be the most frustrating part of the forums. Now let's just hope the photos don't disappear LOL

Roger, I forgot to mention that I think you are on the right track concerning the resolution setting in the link statement. It could be as easy as tweaking the w x h #'s when editing the link for posting. If that is the case I will try to put together a table in my instructions of the most common or "known to work" resolution #'s to make it easier to reference going forward. I'll try to get in touch with Murray on FB to see what his thoughts are on all this as well.

Mark, I guess $50/yr isn't all that bad, but I guess I am just to ticked off at PB right now to justify paying their fees when their services are sub par

Completely off topic, but I love the houses in the background of Roger's picture.  Such great style and character.

Kevin, was looking forward to seeing you post a picture.  How about posting/showing one?
Off topic, style and character and still close enough when driving/working in Chicago.

Hi Roger, I just posted the pic above and it looks like I will be adding more to this post by this weekend. I will be trying to adjust photo formatting, so there will be a lot of test posts to this thread LOL

Jim, Thanks for responding! Hopefully I will be able to get avatars fixed up with Google Chrome this weekend. I will post the step by step instructions if I am successful.

It's 320 x 225.

Kevin,
Send me the thumbnail that you want to use for your avatar picture (the little picture that appears under your name).
My email is mursimon01@gmail.com
I'll upload it to my web site & post it for you.  I did it for Roger and it does work fine.  I think the URL that Chrome gives you is too long and doesn't work.
