What's your favorite movie moment with Anne?
My personal favorite is in "The Prisoner of Second Avenue" right when Jack Lemmon's character gets home to the robbed house, and doesn't notice so he asks Anne why the house is so messy. She tells him they've been robbed and he says he doesn't understand so she explains: "Robbed! What does rob mean?! They come in, they take things out! You had 'em, now they got 'em! They used to be yours now they're theirs! We've been robbed!"
Text doesn't do it justice, though it's great writing, because the magic is in Anne's performance. |

| I am a huge Anne Bancroft fan. I feel in love with her when I saw the Graduate. My favorite movie. I'm also 16 and the night I saw the graduate for the first time (and loved it) was the night she died. I saw onine the next day she died, and I was like, what the heck! I also then rented the graduate, the Miracle worker, turning point, agnes of god, and some more and watched them all night. My friends, and parents don't understand why I like her so much..... Iam also a judy garland fan, I have a fetish for old movies (60's mostly) I wish there were some autobiographys about Anne. If anyone knows about any e-mail me. |

I'm a huge afficionado of Anne bancroft. I own every movie she starred or cameod in from Graduate to Fatso. I was deeply affected when I read that she died. Once I heard the sad news, I watched all her movies with a big box of Kleanex. My friends call me an "Old Soul" because I'm a big classic genre movie buff. I'm only 16, so I can understand how I inherited the nickname. All my Favorite actor/actresses are gone. Anne, Marlon, Lucille,Katherin...At least I still have Ellen Degeneres.

Cool Site. Thanks for the credit for converting/transcribing all those interviews/articles. It took many hours in the library stacks and with the old technology available back in the 90's
It's back... partially...

Hi Missy, I had the same problem trying to find this movie. When I did finally find it, it was at Walmart.com, however, I just looked there and they don't seem to have it anymore. I did a quick search and I think I found a copy at http://www.learmedia.ca/product_info.php/cPath/9/products_id/820. It looks like this may be a one copy thing but I don't know. I hope this helps and that you can find it, if you completely are out of luck drop me an email at sammi@sammigirl.com and I'll see what else I can do.
Sammi
PS: Every once in a while I see this up on eBay, so keep your eyes peeled there too. |

Hello!
Does anyone know where to find a copy of Anne's 1964 film "The Pumpkin Eater?" I'm a huge fan and haven't been able to find this movie anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

This board is for all you's out there who are new to this board. So come on and introduce yourself. Some things to mention: your name, location, a favorite Anne or Mel movie, maybe how you got to be a fan. Anything worth knowing or bragging about.
Here, I'll start. My name is Sammi I'm from Illinois(but soon to be Warsaw, Poland see:http://poland.sammigirl.com ) I've been a huge Mel Brooks fan forever but the Anne Bancroft part came a few years ago when I read a much too short biography(written in '79) of Anne and Mel. I made this site because the world needed a decent Anne and Mel site. Or at least I did. I was fed up with seeing the same two bits of info on 50 sites. OK, now it's your turn!
