Hello Nick

Quote:
How is your tournament with all the Chafitz GGM and MGS progressing?

The tournament works but there are 18 machines besides the various combinations of modules for the MGS and GGM with 12 games between every machines and modules ! It is very long ! I need more time ! You know that !
At the moment,20 % of the games were played ...
But I look at your Website a lot then I do not play a games of my tournament

I hope to put the on-line results in 2009.

I will report on these sometime soon once I have finished some games and positional tests between 2MHz and 4MHz and take a break on working on my site

The results of the tests and games which you made with the Mega 4-GGM will be fascinating to read.

Best regards

Olivier

Hi Nick,
Thanks so very much for offering to download the 2200x manual for me. I also appreciate your not requesting my eyeteeth in exchange for the favor! Best Regards....  Hondo

Hi Hondo,
I have just sent the Master 2200X manual to Alain so keep checking his site he should have it available soon.

We all look for manuals from time to time so the rule is if you have a manual the next time someone asks then you can share that.

This way we all share the pain and the benefits

All the best,

ps... if you dont see the manual there in a day or so then send me your e-mail address.

Hi Olivier,

It is nice to hear from you    and thanks for your compliments.

How is your tournament with all the Chafitz GGM and MGS progressing?

I now am fortunate enough to have a real Mega-4 GGM although never sold in the marketplace someone had the original protoype and software and modified a GGM by replacing the old circuits with completely new insides for 4 MHz copied from the prototype..

So now I have a real Steinitz 4 MHz and Morphy 4 MHz as well as a Gruenfeld-S 4MHz module running on a real 4 Mhz GGM.

I will report on these sometime soon once I have finished some games and positional tests between 2MHz and 4MHz and take a break on working on my site

Some differences between the 2 MHz and 4 MHz are immediately apparent where when you initialize the machine it will say "play" instead of "game"

All the best

Hi Nick,
Very impressive and comprehensive site and I am sure it has the potential to keep you busy for many more hours than you ever anticipated...LOL. With that in mind I was wondering if you had any plans to include a "manuals" section for downloading? I ask this because I noticed under the Radio Shack/Master 2200x you have posted the picture of the manual for this computer. I have looked everywhere for this manual and would give my eyeteeth (so to say) for this manual. If you do have this manual is there any chance at all I could possibly get a copy to download in PDF. format? Either way good luck on your new website and I look forward to seeing new additions.

Hondo

Hi Hondo,

I will try and scan it this week for you and send it to Alain.  I will let you know when this is done.

No I don't have plans for manuals, because we already have an excellent source for these at Alain's website.

Hi Nick,

I could not agree more with the previous writers. Great addition to the chess computer world!

Needless to say I'm much pleased with your link to the Overtom Museum. A link to your site has immediately been added to the Overtom site.

With admiring regards,

Hi everyone,

Wow, what can I say I am really touched with the nice words of encouragement that I am reading here.  I don't know for other people who try to do a Website but I found it to be a very awkward moment when you are telling others about what you are doing because that is like giving something of yourself and leaves you open for whatever... and I find this very hard to do most of the time in life.

Hi Alain,
Great and thanks a lot I really appreciate the link

Hi Mike,
Yep, 50+ Excaliburs    I didn't realize I had that many either until I started counting them

thanks for the kind words regarding the Hiarcs Forum although i don't think i deserve them

Hi Steve,
I think you are being too modest    Everyone who reads your contributing gems wherever they come across them knows the value to our dedicated community and appreciates the read.

one very small correction .. i am no longer a moderator there ..but that doesn't stop me from making posts about the old computers!!

I did not know that, but I did wonder the past few weeks if you were taking a festive break because you had not contributed there quite as much as what you normally do.

Well that may be a boon for all of us because perhaps you might now find time to write here and in other places too

I have made a slight correction to my link to Hiarcs which I hope you will also like.

Thanks a lot to everyone for the kind words of encouragement.  This will I am sure give me the fuel that I need to keep working hard at improving my site.

All the best

Nick

Congratulations on publishing the website Nick !!

Super layout and detail of the information you are providing. This will keep you busy for a while.

50+ Excaliburs !! You have got to be kidding us.

Anyway I know you will accomplish this massive task and fill some major holes in the information available on the web to date.

All power to your elbow.
Best wishes
Mike
