Hello Ajax,

Does anyone own the Obsidian? Any opinions?

I have the Emerald Classic plus, which seems to have the same program, but slightly slower (26,6 Mhz; the O. has 2x16 MHz)

I would estimate his strength at about 1950 (old) SSDF-ELO; somewhere in the range of MM V, Polgar and so on.

It plays interesting and active; there is only one thing, I don't like: the display is too deep in the case, so it is not very good to read. But I don't know, how this is at the Obsidian; maybe they have changed it...

Oh, and another little problem, which I discovered: the Average-Time-levels are not working correctly (the Emerald cl. plus uses much to less time with them!)

At level "AT9" he took about 9sec/move (should be 75!); at level "AT11" about 24sec/move (should be 100!)

The Sapphire/Diamond has a similar problem IIRC...

hope that helps,
Robert
