So that's what Christian looks like!! Now I really don't want to play a game of chess against him!

Think about it Mike, wouldn't you rather have him on our side as opposed to against us?

Watch out folks! We now have an official "moderator"
So, behave yourself kids!!!
Just kidding of course! Each one of you can be seen as example of how to behave in a forum! Positive postings, no attacks, no bad languages, you guys are great!

You didn't say anything about getting a Warrior Monk, Ismenio.

Isn't Christian in moderation mode a bit scary for a forum as well behaved as this?

Like I said, the main reason for having someone else to take care of things is mainly for when we have technical issues.

Christian, I'll send you details on how to open tickets for the support team of Boardnation. And feel free to "moderate" me as well! Let me know when I'm out of line!  and I mean it!

Best,

Ismenio

Ismenio,

it is like the story of Gemmell with the 25 warrior monks (of course you´ve never heard of them)...they needed do go into war and they elected a leader which was approved by the abbot. The one they chose was very surprised (he was THE junior monk)and asked the abbot why he had been chosen ...and the answer was:

You are the least perfect.

Chosing me as a moderator awakes resemblance

C.

Christian,

That would be kind of a admin/moderator, but I’m thinking more of a backup for me for when we have technical problems. Basically it would be to just send requests to technical support when we have problems with the forum. Also if a member needs help like re-setting his password we could have another person to take care of that.

By the way, even as an admin, I cannot see any of your passwords or the instant messages you can send to each other via the forum. I can only create a new temporary password if you forget yours. Just thought I should mention that.

Best,

Ismenio

So, let me know if any posting member would like to volunteer for the position.

Ismenio,

what exactly would be the tasks of such a volunteer?

Great idea Ismenio. I have it bookmarked.

I expect everyone has had the same problems over the last two or three days?

Hi again everybody. I have to apologize for the recent problems with Boardnation. Unfortunately that is out of my control. I try to open tickets for their support team when we have problems but sometimes it takes them a long time to take care of them.

I have created a “backup” forum here: http://chesscomputer.12.forumer.com
My idea is that, we can use that to keep talking to each other in case Boardnation is down for a long period of time and I will use that to send updates on the tickets. I think we should still use this one as our main forum since we have some very good information here that we can refer to any time without even having to go to an archive.

So I suggest you bookmark that backup forum.

Once again, thank you very much for your support and patience.

Best regards,

Ismenio

If you had tried to access the forum yesterday and today you probably got an error message. Looks like the problem has been corrected. Something went wrong with the servers at Boardnation. Thank you for those who sent me emails on this.

Also, because of problems like that I think we should have someone else who can help as an admin here. If you noticed, we really don’t have a moderator because all members and guests have been a par example of behavior and meaningful contribution with their posts! Thank you all for that! Keeping a friendly forum I believe is one of the reasons why we even have ladies visiting and reading your posts, something I don’t quite see in other places.

But even though we are a small group maybe it’s time to have a moderator who can help when we need to open tickets for technical problems and when members need help with their accounts. That way, if I’m too busy or even on vacation or something, we have a back up person.

So, let me know if any posting member would like to volunteer for the position.

Thanks!
