You did say that the prize would be a "hand-held" did you not?

Just checking,

Dick,

;)

Joke!
Seriously, I messed this one up with my selection. My apologies to Mike!

I don't know what I mean Dick. Perhaps I had better forget about the competitions.

Mike

Did you intend for this to be an oxymoron?

I am looking with anticipation to the final draft.  I love reading legal writs.

Of course you and Ismenio are still bound to drive a coach and horses through the loopholes.

Hi all

Ismenio chose the Toytronic as his competition prize. A machine for true connoisseurs of the ancient chess computer. 1979 and very Retro.

http://www.alte-schachcomputer.de/sammlungandere.htm

The Toytronic is blessed with completely inappropriate old wooden chess pieces. They have felted bases and sit (just about) on a fold out metal silver and black board. I thought that they could not possibly be originals until I got another set just the same. The pieces are housed in a strangely designed plastic case, not shown on the pictured set which seems a later version. The third peculiarity is the non standard batteries which came with the set. Thankfully there is also an adaptor.

The next competition will be a teaser.

Mike

Very strange, Mike.  How do you keep the pieces from sliding all over the place, when this one is held in your hand?

You did say that the prize would be a "hand-held" did you not?

What only one guess !!

You seem to have scared off the opposition Ismenio. To encourage more participation you could have put up a stupid guess.

Well the suspense has got to end. The seller has confirmed that it is indeed an Acetronic Graduate made by Scisys. How you could be confident of the Scisys logo I do not know. I can only see it because I know it's there.

Your prize awaits. Which is it to be.

Mike

BTW your Mini Sensory Challenger link leads to your Micro.

Thanks Mike For the next contest, I'll try something different!

Thanks for the tip on the wrong link! I was still updating the site (lots of work ) so I'm glad your sharp eyes noticed that! Please let me know if you see anything else, including wrong info. I'll try to update that link and other stuff this weekend.

Best,

Ismenio

Dick Schneiders
You are correct. But you would need big pockets to call it a pocket chess computer. I could do you one installed on a trolley.

Thought that you were going to get the dark photo machine, Dick. I'm convinced Ismenios computer screen must be brighter than mine.

Mike

So you have changed the rules, after the fact?

I didn't see where you offered a prize of a "pocket chess computer", but only a "handheld".

I think Ismenio might need the services of a good lawyer.

I LOVE this game

Well, I recognized the Scisys logo, but wasn't sure about the model. Though I remembered seeing it before! So I just did some searching around and came across this: http://www.xs4all.nl/~tluif/chescom/AcetrGrad.html

Would that qualify or was it cheating?

Ok let us make it worth it. You win a handheld of your choice (there aren't many) from my spares list, delivered to your door.

Asking the seller disqualifies. Administrators verdict final.
Open to members and guests.

Let the best collector win.

This Ebay seller is leaving us all in the dark:-

I do not know what it is. Who will be the first to get it right. No cheating and asking the seller please.

Mike

The picture is also "in the dark" so it is impossible to read the logo.

With only two levels, it must be an early one of something.

What do we win?
