That would be fantastic, Ismenio.  No hurry in getting it done, as I have certainly have other and better computers to use.  :-)

Thanks,

Hi Dick,

I don't have my Fidelity Micro Chess Challenger in front of me right now but I do have the manual. I can scan it and send it to you via email. I'll let you know once I have that done. I will take me a few days to do it. I'll look it up later on.
As for the forum, we'll see what happens! This is one way to have the discussion open to others so that they can benefit from it and voice their opinion as well. The only other forum I know like this is in German and there are some folks in the Computer Chess Club as well but most of the discussion there, over 90% is related to PC and chess software.

Best,

Ismenio

Ismenio,

In your collection, I saw a Fidelity Micro Chess Challenger.  I recently received one of them and don't have the manual.  Most of the buttons seem to be obvious in what they do, but I can't figure out the ones labeled SP and VP.  Also, the G7 & H8 buttons have a symbol on them that leads me to think those buttons have multiple functions.

This game seems to be in a two player mode, as I can't get the computer to make any moves unless I push the MO button.  How do I get it into the mode where I can play against the computer?

I have checked some places that have manuals on line, but none had the Micro manual.  Do you know of any place?

It is nice to have a forum all to myself :-), but I hope that soon there will be others around.

Thanks,

Thanks Dick. This is still a “beta” project. I'm not sure where it's going but if we have enough interest and support I hope to attract other folks interested in dedicated chess computers and I will do my best to share the information I have gathered from my research and collecting adventure as well.

As for the language barrier, I'm researching on how we can minimize that problem so that anyone can have access to the information. Stay tuned!

Best,

Ismenio

Hi Ismenio,

I found your website searching for Fidelity Phantom information.  As you can read in my other post, I purchased a couple of them on eBay recently and you have both of them listed on your eBay watch page.

I was surprised to discover that Europe, especially Germany, still has a very active Fidelity community.  I thought that the desk computer and cheap software would have been the death of dedicated chess computers.

I assume that this forum will be in various languages.  Will there be any Internet language translator that can assist those that only speak a single language?

Thanks,
