Star Ruby (with 20 MHz) takes about 5mins (in 4 repetitions i got 5'/5'23"/5'2"/5')

best regards,
Robert

Err...yeah, your idea is way better
My Obsidian takes closer to six minutes on average. So
this confirms that the 2x16mhz is the slower version.
I bought mine used so it could have had several owners
before me. Still a nifty machine though.

Yeah I got

5'15/5'08/5'30/5'15

Couldn't understand how to set up your problem Larry.
I have 2x16Mhz.

Hello Larry,

I'm just wondering. I'll try a position here:

[D]3q2k1/1R3pp1/1p2p2p/3nP3/4Q3/P2B1PP1/1P3PK1/r7 w

If it does'nt take it, it's no big deal. It's a position I'd like a
few Obsidian owners to set up if they would, and tell us just
exactly how long white takes to find Rxf7.

Hmm, wouldn't it be easier to do this?:

on level FD 8 (8 ply fixed depth) play 1.h3 (from starting position); when Obs. answers 1.-d5 then play 2. h4 and then check, how long it takes it to answer!

Star Ruby (with 20 MHz) takes about 5mins (in 4 repetitions i got 5'/5'23"/5'2"/5')

best regards,
Robert

look at your Obsidian specs and tell us if you have a 2x16mhz
or a 20mhz processor? We are trying to sort out a mystery
with these machines.
