The website:
http://www.schach-computer.info/wiki/index.php/Hauptseite

Seems to be a bit of a mecca for all things electronic chess?  However, alas i do not speak German...  Does anyone know of a version of this site in English, or an english site of similar depth & stature?
Many thanks
Al

I have the same problem.  But I have a little trick, but not a very good one.  Hopefully someone with more knowledge can tell us..  My trick is to look for the translation.  I cut and paste the "German" link into google search and I look for those links that are translated in English, like the link below...

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.schachcomputer.info/html/aktivschach_elo_liste.html&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dschachcomputer.info/html/aktivschach_elo_liste%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DG

I am not sure if the whole site can be tranlated instead of one or two links here and there...

  Oh well..

Regards,

Hi Al

The simple answer to your question is no.

The best two websites for chess computers, and a few other good ones, are in German. This reflects the comparative popularity of chess computers in Germany and the vast store of knowledge there.

The good news is that there are a number of websites in English, and some of the things you will find there cannot be found on German websites.

The Links page from my website may help people to find them  -

All the best
