..One more question about the computer..I notice the time clock has four digits in the display but generally it seems to show three digits and a "carat" in front of the last three digits..but does show the entire fourth letter in front in moves..is that normal?..Thanks.

Well..as the days roll on and the computer continues to kick my behind(maybe 15 games)..LOL!I thought I had a problem with the computer because it wouldn't finish the game...just sit back and gloat with "checkmate in X moves"..but read the manual ,hit the "clear" button, and let it continue to put me out of my misery.
This thing is closer to getting sold one day soon, more than likely NOT on ebay with their new BOGUS format(me 1600+,usually cameras, but no paypal)..really nice shape with everything with it in the original box, styrofoam end packing pieces, the chess-player box with the trays and extra caps, power adapter, and computer with only a couple small scratches to the smooth surfaces alongside the chessboard(and needs a q-tip cleaning of dust in the vent louvres).Whoever had it before me only used fingertips to move and there are no dings to the nice playing surface or buttons.I still haven't tried all the features, more than likely will never get to them, pretty elaborate.I'm still reading the  downloaded  manual(Thanks again,Tom).I'll be playing a few more games over the weekend when I have time and decide about the selling.I'd sure to win ONE game!

Okay..It's been a long time snice I've played chess oreven thought of it with a machine..however..I recently came across one of the Fidelity Phantom 6001 sets and am dying to get the pants beat off me!
<p>My problem..the set I found doesn't have the instructions with it and I can't seem to figure out how to do anything but full auto mode for both sides. Can someone give me a simple idea of how to set it  for me to play the thing as an opponent against the computer..just what buttons to push, how to move, and verify my move, what the computer does on it's own,etc..Please don't get too elaborate..I'm pretty logical and can probably figure things out once I get started..A1 is fine for a start... ..I'd like half a chance! Thanks for any info..

PS..anywhere to download the manual to read it?
