Ah, now I see. That's something different. At American ebay I couldn't find a silver-coloured chess academy with the number KD5V, but anyway, I found another one and compared it with a black one.

Did you mean the following two?

I think they are technically the same, whereas the silver-coloured was produced by Saitek and the black one by Mephisto which is a daughter-company to Saitek. Saitek uses to dress their chess computers in greyish-silvery cases and Mephisto in black ones.

is there a difference between the black talking chess academy and the silver one. the silver is art.# KD5V? the black one which I have is model CT-06V. thanks for any info.    regards, Tony

Difficult to say, Tony. Entering "chess academy CT-06V" in Google delivers your well known elegant talking chess academy by Mephisto. But "chess academy KD5V" with several variations (e.g. KD5 V, KD 5V etc.) brings nothing to me that made sense or that revealed another chess academy.

I also tried "Cuil", the new search engine, but didn't get any results there. Give them a chance and be patient, they are still at the beginning. I hope they will become a good competitor to Google in the next future. I often use the Cuil-service and very often get fine results. But this time unfortunately not.
