To Marko: Yes, a pen is surely a better approach than mine, as it should help to draw with more accuracy than with a brush.

To Tom: Your model seems very similar to mine! Have a look inside yours, and you should see if the keyboard is also easy to extract. If it is, and if you see these black strips, check their resistance with your multimeter.

Have a pleasant evening,

Hello Lionell,

Great tip! I have used the CircuitWriter Pen from CAIG Laboratories for repairs. The pen shape makes it easy to apply the conductive traces.

Very good, Lionel!!!

I hope your repts will help to revive dozens of computers that had already been given up.

I for one will soon open the one shown here. There is no game on that page because the computer doesn't work.

It would be great if I could use your methods to revive it!

With thankful regards,

tom

NOVAG MICRO CHESS board problem (solved)

Good afternoon,

A common problem on old chess computers is the dead board (either all dead or just a few rows or columns).

This was the case with a NOVAG MICRO CHESS I have bought in a garage sales.

After many hours, I finally managed to understand what caused the problem, and I have solved it. I wanted to share this information with you, in the hope it will be useful to someone else.

The whole explanation is described on one page of my web site :
