Mike,

see what you´ve got from good old Germany: A WINNER

Christian

@Eric: Le Mephisto III-S se trouve en Angleterre maintenant, c´est le chatiment pour avoir cĂ©dĂ© un demi-point

Yes Christian little did I realise what a fabulous machine I was getting. And brilliantly looked after as well.

Now I will have to write at length about it's history and achievements.

Eric if you wish the III-S to play in a tournament in the future you only have to ask.

Lang World Champion regards
Mike

Hi Eric,

A very good tournament!  The winner may not be a surprise    but what is surprising to me is that Mephisto 3 dropped some points through draws against each machine: Mephsito 1, 1X, 2 and Junior. !! and losing to Mephisto Junior?

Mephisto Modular lost to 1x?  and Junior also beat Mirage? These are all very big surprises but good results for the little machines

And only 1/2 point difference between place 5 and 8!

Best regards

Nick

Hi Hondo,

Quote from: hondo on December 30, 2008, 11:27AM

It is with reference to the tournament at Saints 2007..,..where the lower rated (elo) Novag Sapphire came out on top of four out of five higher rated chess computers. Since you were there I was wondering if you had any comments or explainations as to how this could have happened?

Ratings are estimated after many games. As our tournament as only a few games and the Elos are quite close, anything is possible.

Quote:
did all the other computers take a demotion (ELO) and the winner get some sort of ELO promotion ?

Not as it would happen with real players and Elos. But the games may have been taken into account in the following Schachcomputer.info Elo list as one of our participants is also active in the elaboration of this list.

Best regards,
Alain

Hi Alain,
I have a quick question for you that may be a bit off this topic. It is with reference to the tournament at Saints 2007..,..where the lower rated (elo) Novag Sapphire came out on top of four out of five higher rated chess computers. Since you were there I was wondering if you had any comments or explainations as to how this could have happened? And with tounge in cheek and good natured kidding I am wondering did all the other computers take a demotion (ELO) and the winner get some sort of ELO promotion ? Take care and happy holidays

Hello,

I started a tournament between different computers Hegener & Glasser.

You can find details of the tournament here
http://www.blitzchess.fr/fr/tournois/tournoismachines/ericbelot.html
7 computers
About 30 seconds per move (by machines)

4 parts already completed and some surprises.

Best regards

Eric Belot
