A further note to guys following ....a collector in Germany had me do a 6 ply test with 1.h4 to determine if the machine was a true Super Nine Deluxe.

I had no idea what the correct answer was, but after sending him the the result he was delighted with the result! Something to do with the chip speed difference
between a regular super nine and the Deluxe version.

I have a few inquiries (interest) from France and Germany but none from the US!

True I haven't ebayed, but you guys can contact me , or tell your friends, or this baby is going overseas! and don't tell me , we've already sent everything else there, even if it's true!
Anyway get the word out and help me to at least avoid the need to learn ebay and its money dealing?!
Sincerly

Thank You  Steve!

I've been in the dark ages as far as selling anything on ebay(haven't as of yet) but it can't be that hard.

I realized the silver factory sticker on bottom has "model SD9" and I'll include that when listing.

I've played it at 3 minutes a move and it handled me easily! I've beaten a Novag Expert (wished I'de have kept it) and the Pulgar 5Mhz at longer time controls (some years ago) so maybe I'll have time toget this guy!

I've ordered matching chess pieces for it from chess classics and arriving (Dec 15 or so) till then some subs a tad bit too big.

I recently discovered google translator! and with Alain's suggestion places an add on a German web site (seems so far away though)

In the good old days (80's) when I lived in San Fran I would just put a cheap add in the Chronicle and by weekend someone would come by, I would give them a polite intro to their new friend, he'd give me the cash and that was it. (wish I had kept the computers and quit buying and buying!)

I hadn't realized how many chess computers I had bought till I started looking at some of the chess computer museums!
Anyway,

Thanks Steve !

Hi Alain and JG

I think Alain is correct when he suggests selling the S9D on Ebay
you would probably get your best price that way, especially if you made a few photos of the computer,Original box and manual

i dont recall ever actually seeing a S9D on Ebay though
i do remember a few months ago ,someone sold a regular Super 9 Modified to fit inside the Champion Sensory wooden  housing but that is not really an authentic S9D

I cant say with any degree of certainty but my guess is that less then 1000 S9D's were made  but probably 500 is closer to the right number

Best Regards
Steve

Thanks Alaine

I'm getting a quick schooling in this area. Looks like they' re rare and go for about 450 to 550 euros, as I was told is what the last ones went for.

Thank you so much for the lead. I will check it out. Do you by any chance have any idea how many of these Super Nine Deluxes are around?
I see you are a hero and I'm figuring that's like an elder!

Hi,

Forgive me guys but I've bee trying to find the correct forum for selling this working model that I've run across.

the Super 9 Deluxe is very rare and worth quite a lot of money for a 6502 based computer : I saw two of them sold on ebay for 423 Euros and 550 Euros

I think the best place for such a computer is ebay, but if you want to sell it through a forum, go here :
http://www.siteboard.de/cgi-siteboard/board_index.pl?fnr=6010
There are many collectors who read this forum and you can post in English without problem.

best regards,
Alain
