Hi Bryan

Many thanks for the interview.

Back in the 80s and 90s there was great interest in the chess computer world in the competition between the top programmers. Not only in terms of strength of play but in the features which made the machines more interesting and enjoyable to play. Dave Kittinger played a major part in that. It is a shame that such talents have had little influence on the manufacturers over the last decade.

Best wishes for a Happy and Prosperous New Year to all

Happy New Year to Everyone

Towards the end of 2008 I managed to track down Dave Kittinger ( Novag) who kindly agreed to a short interview.

Very little has been heard of Dave for many years and the interview sheds some light on why he got interested in computer chess, how he became involved with Novag plus what he is doing today.

Thank you very much for that wonderful contribution, Brian!

Whilst looking for Dave Kittinger's name, I found this page on the Rebel site, which provided information about a great number of chess programs.

And of course, I wish all the members and other visitors of the forum a happy year 2009.

With best regards,

tom
