On more question:
The exclusive board that i bought (without module) it  came with an a/c adapter but it also can work with batteries. Do this version can work with 16 bit and 32 bit modules?

best regards

Ricardo, I printed the whole process for this on the forum a couple months ago. it's long , so I suggest you look in archives. after reading it, if you have more q's, I will help all I can. tony
Christian, when chess baron came out with those pieces, I was the one who sent them the process and suggested the 3" stallion pieces. I had been modifying them for quite awhile. I use the ebony versions on my citrine and exclusives. A modifyed 3 1/2 stallion looks good on the Grandmaster. When I modify a set I always balence the weights because the maker never takes in to account the heavier ebony and the boxwood pieces are always noticeably lighter. Takes me 4 days to do a set properly.  regards, Tony

Tony,
i just bought an exclusive board and it has 5 light squares. You said that you remove it by refinishing. Whow is this refinishing?

Christian, not to sure about that being the cause. I have seen boards with the circles on all the dark squares and some discloration on all white. unless the boards have 64 pieces on them it doesn't make sense. if the rings only appeared on starting position squares, then I would agree. my theory is that the cheap glue used for the felts did not cure properly and emitted vapors causing discoloration over a long period of time on all the squares. I have 2 exclusive boards that had darkening on all sguares which I removed by refinishing. I also refelted all pieces using a water based glue. the old glue had never hardened. I did this years ago and have never had redarkening occur. anyway that's my theory.

Hi Tony,

ok I didnĀ“t see it from this point of view. I never thought about the felt and the glue...
Anyway I always remove the pieces when I store my chess computers, so the problem never occured to me.
And for my Exclusive boards I use the "enhanced Citrine pieces" from chessbaron which are beautiful and fitting for the Exclusive boards (and they are new).
They are no felts underneath but some kind of rubber.

Regards,

Christian

I don't know if it does any harm to the reeds, but a lot of them developed dark rings on the squares apparently from leaving pieces on them for long periods. thats a theory anyway. As a matter of course I remove all pieces when finished with the board just to play it safe.  regards, Tony

The dark rings on the squares appear when pieces are left on the board AND the board is exposed to sunlight. The exposure to sunlight makes wood darker, and when pieces are left on the board, the wood underneath them does not get darker, hence the so-called lightspots appear.
If you let the pieces set up then you should store the exclusive in a dark locker ;-)

Christian

Hello,

I wonder if it is a good idea to expose continously an exclusive board with the pieces on? Can the magnetic sensors be "tired" by being always set?

any answers?
Thanks a lot,
