Hi Christian,

Well as i said, how many think aubout the R40 thruttfully i think 30 sec a move is to short for this machine arround 1 min, it would be stronger and the program could more exploid itself

Well 75$ ? is a generous offer, but the unit is not for sale even when it would be 7500$

Have a nice weekend

Hans told me just before the first game that he was a little bit pessimistic.
Everybody expected the R40 to win (well not me, I expected my old Fidelity to rule out every opposition) because it is supposed to be the strongest dedicated machine.
But there were a lot of machines almost evenly matched, and in such a tight field the outcome is never sure.

Anyway it was great to enjoy French hospitality (again) and to watch some of the strongest machines ever made playing.

Sargon, I think I know the reason for the poor performance
of the R40. Over time the processor gets old, and wears out,
giving poor performance, just like an old human. The R40 is
probably only rated about 1600 elo by now. Next year it will
be rated perhaps 1500 elo, and so on. I will therefore offer
to buy it from you for $75, a generous offer, don't you agree?
