Thank you Meca.
You are probably right. As a matter of fact, I didn't think I would come across that precise magnet with its specific dimensions in a warehouse. But maybe so. I will start hunting for it tomorrow.
Regards.

what i can recommend: Try an online search for "Neodymium magnets" and find a seller in your country.
These Neodymium magnets are very strong, so one with the size 10mmx1mm (http://www.supermagnete.de/S-10-01-N) is absolutely enough for the Reed contacts in chess computers.

I have made a complete piece set with these magnets and it is working perfectly!

best regards,
Robert

For all those who are looking for magnets I might offer the same recommendation I gave to a friend of mine who raced slot cars (they have small magnets in the bottom of the car to hold them to the track) and he went on to win the US Championship that year.

The recommendation is to contact a company in the small town of Michigan called Otsego a company named Tengam (that's magnet spelled backwards).  They are an off shoot of McPherson Plastics and they make plastic magnets (actually magnets made of magnetic material mixed with plastic) which are very strong and very smooth and soft (in a plastic sense) such that they would not scratch a wood board.  And because they are made from a mold-able mix they can be made any size and shape.

I have no connection with this company other than geographical location and the fact that they passed me over for a position by hiring a much more qualified Ph D Physicist (no hard feelings) so I have nothing to gain by your accepting my recommendation.  Just want you to know about this source.

Of course they probably won't do small runs of single size magnets but you never know - they may already have what you need.

Good luck
Steve

Hi everyone,

A magnet which was stuck at the bottom of one of my black pawns has accidentally fallen and I can't find it anywhere.
Do you by any chance know where I can find one?
Just because of that single magnet, I can't use my Novag Super expert C.

Thank You.
