Dear sonicsoul,

It would seem like you have nothing to lose, so why not?

Thanks for the reply Asiryangguk.  Hopefully I canmaybe get a hold of something on ebay, but would you recommend getting in touch with Novag directly?

Dear sonicsoul,

This month, Ebay had a rare auction of a Novag Solo.  The auction had the even rarer event of the seller not only auctioning a solo, but also a second set of pieces.

That would have solved your problem.  If you stay vigilant on the Ebay rolls, you might have a fortunate sighting of a listing akin to the one above.

The pieces for the more advanced Calculator-type Novag computers (Topaz, Ruby, Sapphire, Sapphire II, VIP, Super VIP), sadly, all differ from those of the Novag Solo.

Hi All,

I have recently joined the forum in the hope that someone could possibly help me.  I have started playing chess more regularly again and have unearthed my old novag solo (it having been in storage) as much for nostalgic value as anything else.  Unfortunately, I have lost one piece - a pawn (black silhouette on white disc background).  Having trawled the internet without success I was wondering if anyone can recommend a source of replacement counters.  I would prefer to maintain the use of an original counter if possible rather than using an entirely new set of counters.

Can anyone help?
