Thanks for the help!
I saw the pics of the excailbur you modified. Amazing work!

Im really enjoying this chess computer so far, its my first. It provides a great challenge.
Some interesting things about it though.  It never says "win" if I checkmate the computer.. just flashes "Lose" .. im ok with that though I would like the gratification of seeing "win" flash up.. or even checkmate. Also if it looks like its a dead win in the late game for the player then I notice the computer will just start Kamakazing pieces left and right.

Other then that very pleased with it so far.

It is perfectly normal for it show Er-H8 when 1st powered on. Just press "new game" like you have been doing. After "newgame" if it still shows an error for a square, recenter the piece shown. I personally never like to leave the pieces on a computer with reed switches for an extended period. I would think just overnight wouldn't pose any problems.  regards, Tony

Hey Everyone,

I recently bought a second hnad grandmaster chess computer. its been a blast recently to play with.
Just wondering a few things about it.

Everytime I start the machine I get an error on H8. Moving the peice doesent usally solve the problem but everytime I press new game everything is fine and will get no further errors. Is this a bug or is the square starting to die?
On another note is it bad to leave my board out with the peices on it while it is off... or will this stress the components in any way?

Thanks in advance
