Hi
My two prototypes and modified pieces are somewhere in my loft. If I get chance I will go up there at the weekend and try and find the pieces. As for weight, buy some digital scales off eBay and weigh the Novag pieces, that way you can be sure that your new pieces won't be too heavy but remember the top of the new pieces need to be smallish because of the lifting claw.

Mephisto, would you kindly provide details of the transformation?  Also, I wonder if I could use a small plastic set where the height of the King does not exceed that of the 2Robot.  What are the potential dangers here?  What would be the ideal plastic set??

Yes the Obsidian suffers from the same defect where the black pieces camouflage against the black squares. During the day it's OK but playing under artificial light can be a bother.

Hi
You've exactly stated what I told Novag when they initially sent me the prototype for testing but unfortunately although they did change a few things that I suggested they didn't change the pieces.
I have replaced the top of the pieces with the tops of a Fidelity set and they work ok.

Just got the 2Robot.  Like it but the Black pieces are difficult to see.  It is especially difficult to tell difference between bishops and pawns.  Also, the queen and king look almost identical.  Has anyone tried to remedy this:  New piece set, painting black pieces a different color?  I don't want to add any more weight than the arm can handle or screw up the arm internals.
