Thanks to Albert, the manual is now available on my site.
And Mike Watters also sent me a bunch of manuals which have been published this morning

Best regards,
Alain

You should have received the pdf scan of the manual for the Excalibur Viper in your email.

I got my Viper from ebay, and of course, it did not come with the manual.  It's not intuitive at all.  Yeti was kind enough to scan his manual for me.  I'm sure you'll be happy to know what all those funny looking symbols mean.

Please let us all know how the Viper compares with your Amethyst.  Many chess computers were marketed by different distributors using different names, so it wouldn't be surprising at all if these were identical units except for the name!

You PM'd your home address.  I need your email address so I can send you an electronic PDF copy of the manual.  Once you receive it, you can print it out on your printer.

Hi Albert.

Would it be possible for me to also get a copy of the Viper Manual.  I would like to compare it to the Novag Amethyst - they look exactly alike.  Where did you find your Viper ?

Tnx

Thanks marko!    Good to know there are some manuals available at the ChessHouse.  I needed the one for the Viper, which Yeti was kind enough to scan for me.  There were a lot of manuals available at the old Excalibur site, and it would be nice if the new owners made those manuals available once again.  In the meantime, it's also good to know that we have resources like this site and you as well.

Regards,
Albert

I just noticed that The Chess House still has some manuals for some of the Excalibur models. Check here:

I have many of the chess manuals from the Excalibur site. Let me know what you are after. Maybe we can get Alain Zanchetta to create an Excalibur section on his wonderful Chess Documentions site.

Cool, thanks Tony.  Apparently they have been taken over by a company named "EB Brands."  I left a voice mail at their New York number.  They don't list an email address or any other contact info.  Let's see if I get a response.

Does anyone know what happened to Excalibur Electronics?  Someone at the ChessHouse told me they went out of business.  Did Saitek or someone else buy them?

I used to get manuals from their support site at http://www.excaliburelectronics.com/index-support.html, but that link is now dead.
