How do you make a computer blink?

Marko, thank you for the link. But I've run into a new problem since then.

However, when I began a game with it (Center Game, which went 1.e4 e5 2.d4 ed4 3.Qd4 Nf3), a legal move (4.Nf3) was declined as illegal. Even using the PV key, proving the move was possible, didn't allow me to make the legal move (I know, the PV key won't override the actual board position, in case anyone thought that was why I used it).

Was it just a malfunction or did I accidentally fry something in the microprocessor?

There is a "test program" on the last page of the CC7 manual. See if that works successfully.

I am looking for both an adapter and user manual--well, a set of pieces for the CC7 would be nice too--so I can play against it again. I did a search on this forum and came up dry for any earlier posts on the adapter itself.

There was an earlier post that discussed the adapter for the CC7. Check here:

Marko, thank you for the link. But I've run into a new problem since then.

I went to Wal-Mart for a variable adapter. There was a polarity setting on it (and it had been opened previously). Turns out that to change the polarity you have to pull the plug off the end going into the computer--and Fidelity doesn't say what polarity is needed on the bottom of the unit.

The first time I tried it, it didn't work (the CC7). Reversing polarity did the trick.

Thank you! I also have an Elite and the manual is there. While I don't need it (yet), it's nice to know I could find it if I can't order it.

A month or so ago I had found information on who Fidelity Electronics was sold to, but when I searched again, no luck. A phone number for FE I found on another site gave me another dead end. I'd be willing to go directly to the new owners if I must, assuming they have any sitting on a dusty shelf somewhere.

Thanks in advance for any help given and my apologies if this duplicates an earlier post.
