I do not know about Chaos Theory, Watson. I see a pattern here.

Could this be the elusive Marble Mirage?

I see a price somewhere between $10 and $1000.

Mystic Mike

Well, you were right Mike It was within your range.
A much more reasonable price: US $179.09.
Just compare that to these:

$468.00
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5975898438

and that one that went for over $600!

This last one was closer to this:
$184.50
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5190867433
Also not too bad.

Isn't it interesting to watch those fluctuations on eBay? I wonder if we can apply the Chaos Theory here!

Hi valtorna and welcome!

What version of WMP are you using? And what version of Windows? I am going to convert the videos to MPEG soon, so that they will be easier to play in just about any OS/players.

As for the UGT Project, I'm sorry for my ignorance but I couldn't find that on the link you posted. Is there a way you post the link that goes to the project/product page?
Could you give some details of that interface?

Thanks,

Ismenio

Hello    I'm new to this board, but I have been doing a bit of research on auto movement boards when I ran across your post on blog.chesshouse.com.  I tried to view your Mirage video files, but all that I could get was audio in WMP.  Got any suggestions?  Have you seen the UGT Project USB interface board?  (www.ugt.nl) Thanks!

As I said before, you're one sharp Englishman! I didn't even noticed that was the same guy! I wonder if he was contacted by some collector who wanted to buy just the box!

Wow!
Now explain this to me: this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5194934454
sold for $175. OK, it was via Buy-it-now but I was watching it and the counter was close to 100 hits before someone actually bought it. You would think that people looking after them would have seen it and grabbed it!
Or, that the seller would have set $175 as a reserve price and let it go!

Now, I'm more interested in his comments about repairing them! Could he also repair Phantoms?

Ismenio

Well I cannot explain some of these Mirage auctions. They do seem to attract a different type of bidder to most chess computer auctions.

Anyway the buyer of your example is the seller of my example, the $468 auction starting 8 days after the $175 auction finished. But the box disappears in the meanwhile. That turned out to be a quick easy profit!

Intriguing that the seller of the $175 one immediately becomes a non registered member after 3 years on Ebay. Strange.

Bemused Mike

Price of Mirages has gone back up again.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5975898438&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Contrary to the photos this one did not have the box.

Interestingly the seller added this boast to his sales patter :-
NOTE TO BUYERS:  This warranty will extend to AFTER you purchase your machine.  You will NOT receive a defective computer nor do I expect it will have any problems in the forseeable future.  I have a good bit of experience with these machines and can help you solve or even fix problems that may arise.  I have a good track record of repairing these robotic computers and an excellent record of customer satisfaction.  Keep that in mind as you bid.  THANKS!  Bob

Considering the other recent prices this went for a comparatively modest sum. It is difficult to understand some of these auctions.

Sold for US $184.50. That's a lot more reasonable than the other ones. Though this didn't have the box and the white king had the cross broken off the top.

Shortcut: eBay link: http://tinyurl.com/ayo85

Location: US - will ship to: worldwide

I wonder how much this will fetch, since it's not in mint condition like the recent ones.
