Well, you'll get your move as soon as I catch up with my messages

As for the comments on the Byte Chess, oh, may your wish come true! We'll see! I made "some" progress today as far as checking the parts!

Best,

Ismenio

Do not feel pressured into a rushed move the game can wait. I am not going to confirm my strategy  all I will say is that I would have three fianchettoed bishops if I could, and if I lure you on in the centre I will be well satisfied

The Brazilian Beauty is in very good hands. I can see that it is only  matter of time before she is beeping annoyingly again.

Amazon Gambit regards

Mike, I've been really busy with some updates to the site (stay tuned so I will NOT accept your draw for now our game shall continue! I promise to send my next move tomorrow. Do you want to give a hint as to whether you're still aiming at my center squares?

As for the Samba Chess, I doubt that I would get any more information but I may check on that. I'm contacting that friend I mentioned. He's the type of guy who has worked on things such as reverse engineering circuit boards! So I think he's the man for the job.
The only problem is the suspense on this! Like I said, it will be quite some time until we hear something else on this but, I also have a couple of ideas I'm checking on!

Best,

Ismenio I believe that the Brazilian Beauty will work one day and will narrowly beat you

The fact that its components are from exotic places only increases its mystery and appeal. Good luck with your search for bits.

It is the highlight of the year so far IMHO. Have you considered posting on Kurts Forum with piccies to see whether anyone there has any information on it.

Samba salutations
Mike

I offer a draw. The suspense is getting to me. Have pity.

Well, I couldn't get it to work At one point I even heard the beep coming out of the speaker and a quick flash of the display but that was it!

It doesn't mean I've given up on it but now my patience will be put to test as I will have to focus on the components now. Problem is, this really seems to be a “South American” computer where some of the components are made in Brazil, others in El Salvador. Interestingly, one chip was made in Italy!

So I'm hunting down each one of them to see if I can find them but I will get in touch with a friend from Brazil who is really good with computers and electronics and he may have a better chance of finding the parts for me and checking the computer out.

It will now take a long time to see the results, if any. Probably at least a couple of months but I'll post the updates here.

0-0-0 Samba Regards,

Ismenio
