Mike, I don't think I can print the position. I didn't see an option for that. I'll keep poking aroud and will post something here if I find it.

Well done Ismenio. I didn't follow the auction so was not aware you had got it. Does it do anything else, such as print the board position?#

Thanks to a tip from Mike who found an auction for the printer I was able to get it without much fanfare. It arrived today and other than some very needed cleaning on the battery compartment everything else was fine and its working:

Printer:

Printer+organizer:

Printing option from the menu:

Printing a game:

It saddens me that I can do this on this electronic organizer but not with my current hand held computers.

OK, not a dedicated chess computer but it did appeal to me. It's a Sharp electronic organizer I just got with two cards Tetris and the one that merits an entry on this post: chess! The manual says (c)1988. Here are the pictures and you'll see why I'm posting this soon:

The package:

The chess card:

Starting a chess game:

Now, here's why I wanted you to see it. Just look at this screen:

Now explain to me why Novag couldn't at least match this kind of screen representation that you can find on a "toy" chess program from 1988! Again, compare that screen to the one Tom posted here a few days ago:

The program is nothing to brag about of course, only 4 levels of play but it even supports printing!
Plus, I was able to just plug the card in and start playing without reading any manual. It was just that intuitive.

Now if anyone come across a CE-50P printer please let me know!
