Thanks Christian and Ismenio,

Christian, I thougth that machine was to use with a Pc too but there's always a hope to find something really interesting. Thk

Ismenio, I've been playing with chess computers since I was a boy. My first chess computer was not a dedicated one, a atari 2600 with the chess cartridge. After that I had a dedicated one named 'Hanimex' or something similar( I don't know where can be it but I have the terrible suspiction that It was thrown for my mather to the dustbin).

These are the 'machines I use now'

For regular play: Hiarcs 9.5 for Palm on a Sony Clie TJ27 with a novag super vip folder board (although the screen looks nice I prefer to use my folder board).

Last buy: Mephisto modular MMV on ebay (81 €)
Computer that surprised me recently: Saitek Cougar. A very good computer (I don't like saiteks too much)
Wanted computer: Any Fidelity Avant and a Novag Super Expert (I know It's hard to find them)
A deception to me: Novag Star Sapphire.

Thanks

Even then it's not sure that it will work! I have a Chessmachine, but here it's only working in an old IBM 486 (I think the model is called "Amber")

It doesn't work in a Toshiba 5200 Laptop (with a beautiful old amber-plasma-screen! ; yes, this 386-laptop has two ISA-slots!)) or in a Dell Pentium 200MHz.

The Chessmachine is the only reason, why i keep this IBM...

Hi lonboy and Welcome! We're glad you joined us and please don't apologize for your English, which by the way is very good! If you've seen the posts you can tell that everyone is very helpful and friendly so there's no need to worry about language. What model of computers do you like the most?

Also, everyone is welcome regardless of their chess computer collection or even if they don't have one but have interest in them!

By the way, anyone can post in any language they want. I'm sure we can use a translation service to communicate, it may not be the best translation but it should work.

Bien Venido!

Ismenio

Christian: thanks for the post! That brought back some memories! ISA slots! 486s...

Ionboy,

this is a Chesscard for a personal computer. You can plug it in an old PC with an ISA Bus. The PC´s which are state of the art don´t support this standard anymore..

On this Card is a 32bit RISC processor. There is also a software which is belonging to this package. This has to be installed on the PC to run the card.

The Program has been written by Ed Schröder at the beginning of the nineties and is pretty strong (2200Fide).

You should not buy it unless you have an older Personal Computer which supports the ISA standard...
