Hi Dick,

I also own the Backgammon Challenger and just like you, I have no idea about its strengh.
Anyway, I recall that the Backgammon's World Champion had lost a match again a computer long time ago (80s), so an old Backgammon Challenger could be relatively stronger than a CC7

Best,
Alain

I know that this is off topic, but I recently got a Fidelity Backgammon Challenger and have played a lot of games on it.  I have not played backgammon more than a time or two in my life, so am not at all experienced with the game.  However, I have won all but a couple of the games against the Fidelity.

Backgammon has a lot of luck involved with who wins, but do any of you know if the Fidelity Backgammon Challenger plays a weak version of the game?  Since it is of a similar vintage as the Chess Challenger 10 and 7, and they are weak chess programs, I wonder if the same is true of this other game computer.

I don't know enough about the game to determine if the computer's strategy is poor or not.

Thanks,
