But then you would  have to pay twice for shipping! Is this really so much worth for you? I wouldn't be surprised if you were the only bidder...

Robert

The seller only sells to German bidders. Since The Netherlands are not far removed from Germany, I wrote her (in German) to enquire if she objected if I made any bids. She (or he) has not responded. The ad said the computer would be sent for 4 euros within Germany. It just means 4 euros would be added to the sum I'd pay otherwise. That's not such a huge amount, is it?
So I would still like to know: would any German bidder be prepared to bid for me?
Best regards,
tom

This looks like an appropriate addition to the Overtom Chess Computer Museum, but the seller doesn't even respond to my queries if she sells to The Netherlands.

Thanks in advance,

I had just opened it and didn't even have time to check the manual. When I saw the external board with pieces I thought it didn't have the drawer!

Ah, i understand! My Saitek came without any accessories...

Now, can you confirm this to me, that the Saitek version is just what they inherited from Mephisto? The Saitek one doesn't have the foldable board + pieces. Also, did they change anything in the program or is it exactly the same?

Sorry, i can't tell you something about the difference as I only have the Saitek (i saw the Mephisto at Bernhard!)

But i will ask him that we can compare them, ok?

Robert,

You can tell I didn't have time to play with my Mephisto chess calculator
I had just opened it and didn't even have time to check the manual. When I saw the external board with pieces I thought it didn't have the drawer! Now I'll have to wait till I get home to check it out. I'm on a trip to visit some friends and will also try to visit the Chess Museum in Miami, Florida.

Now, can you confirm this to me, that the Saitek version is just what they inherited from Mephisto? The Saitek one doesn't have the foldable board + pieces. Also, did they change anything in the program or is it exactly the same?

Thanks,

Ismenio

I don't think the Mephisto one is Christian, but you can still find the Saitek one, which even has a little drawer with tiny pieces!

The Mephisto also has this drawer...
