I never realized this.  I do have a Designer Mach III, that plays decent chess, but I haven't used it much.

I remember it... it was our first twin-purchase (early april) before the Simultano-EliteAG-SuperExpert brelan

That's right - you were so kind to put the manual on your site since I didn't get one.  I have since actually located and purchased an original manual for the Mach III

South of France??  Isn't that the Mediterranean?  Is the Designer Mach III also waterproof?

Have fun,

How do you want me to send you the money, Ismenio?

I am actually surprised that it was only $20 to send it to Europe.  It has to go a lot more then twice the distance, so that is a bit of a bargain.

The Designer series of Fidelity computers have not been in my focus all that much, but this might get me started looking for them.

Thanks,

Dick Schneiders

Dick,

What ever is easier for you, PayPal, check, etc. You may want to wait until it arrives so you can check the exact amount. Also let me know how it works with the power adapter.
I think I am now behind you in number of computers!

Enjoy it!

I'm not a great fan of their design (even if it is an Italian design) but they have the big advantage to have a sun-compatible display : I used to take always my Par Excellence with me for hollidays but I had to find a dark place for playing in order to see its moves, a Designer can be played anywhere and I'm thinking to take one with me this year.

LCD regards,
Alain

And the winner is...

Dick! Sorry Robert! It was around $20 to ship it to your side of the pond and only about $9 to send it to Dick. At least we now know how much it cost to ship something of that size to you

danke für das Spielen des Spiels

OK, Robert please send me your address. I'll be going to the post office probably on Monday or Tuesday and I'll have both your address and Dick's. If the postage is <= $15 I'll stick your address on the package, otherwise it will be Dick's
Sounds like a plan?

That's ok! I've sent you my adress via e-mail!

But I think it will be more than 15$...

Nevertheless: thank you for this generous offer!

Robert

Mike (and others), stay tunned as there may be more give aways as I organize things here but don't expect the Tasc or the "Brazilian Beauty" to be on that list

Hi Ismenio

Please put me down as third on the list.

I am counting on the front two baulking at your amazing packaging charges.

Designer Mike

Don't count on it too much, Mike.  I haven't gotten into the Designer series at all, other than the Mach III, but it is time to start collecting those, I think.

By the way, you sent me running to my O.E.D. to look up the word "baulking".  We ex-patriots never learned how to spell as well as you Brits.

Robert,

Yes, you can use an adaptor! As for the shipping cost, I would have to check with the post office. Just to give you an idea, I send Steffen an Excalibur GM a few weeks ago and it cost around $40 but we’re talking about a BIG box as you know, so the D1500 would cost a lot less than that I am sure.

Ok, let's handle it this way: if postage is 15$ (lowest rate without insurance) or less then i take it, otherwise it's Dick's turn!

Dick, I think, you're chances are very good!

Dick, you’re on the “second chance” list of “bidders” if Robert doesn’t want it

Hm, why not?

Does it work with a adaptor?

How much would it cost sending to Germany?

I have this second one that is taking up what is now valuable space here and I’d rather see it go to someone here, so the first member to claim it gets it. I just ask that you pay for shipping. Now, there’s only 1 problem that I was going to fix but I don’t have time to: one of the terminals in the battery compartment is broken. I was able to play with it bending a piece of metal and inserting it between the battery and the end of the terminal so the computer is working fine.

The box is in fair to good condition and comes with all original pieces, manual and the VHS tape (I never tried to play it though).

Here’s where the problem is:
