Thanks for your reply.  No, it just started two games ago.  It is very old unit(Applied Concepts MGS, 1981).

Paul, in a circuit, usually resistors are the components used to control the level of brightness of LEDs but you're talking about just some segments that is tricky. You may have to replace the entire module. Was it always like this?

Is there anything that can be done to remedy the problem of too many segments illuminating on LED numbers and letters.  For example, a block E  may look like a block 8 at times.  Thanks.
