Hi,

Has anyone had any experience with the new Mephisto Chess Master table top?  It's only $200 and plays 2400 USCF.  Can this be true?  Thanks.

I think it has the same program than the Milano Pro.

Best,
Alain

As far as I know, it's marginally stronger than a much cheaper computer like the Kasparov Cosmos (or Mephisto Expert Travel - which seems to be the same).

According to catalogs, the Chess Master has an ELO of 2075, wheras Cosmos is only 75 points lower.

Quite probably, both will outplay most of us mortals.

But I agree not so long ago computers of that strength would cost you a lot more!

Regards,

tom
