Thanks for the welcomes !.

Mike, i agree that this could well become an addiction as i was only going to collect a few i really wanted but that has turned out to be around 20 computers and still increasing.
Sargon, that sounds like a great deal you got with the portorose, i presume your friend agreed to the trade AFTER drinking all of the wine !! {joking}.
Ismenio, many thanks for your help with the instructions i will let you know when they arrive.

Hello Ian

It is good to hear from another Englishman interested in chess computers. There do not seem to be that many of us around. I started collecting for the same reason as you, wanting to have again machines which I owned and enjoyed in the past. Well that was the intention at the beginning but there is a strange addictive thing about this hobby and Ismenio's forum just makes it worse.

All the best from Milton Keynes
Mike

Hi Ian and welcome! You know you have a very fine computer! One I wish I had!

By the way, I finished copying your manual and should be mailing it tomorrow.

The forum only looks good because of the others I think the less I post, the more interesting it is with good information posted by the others
I am learning a lot!

Best regards,

Ismenio

Hello,
Found this site whilst looking for a chess computer manual and must say it looks really good so had to join !.
About me: Live in Manchester England and have played chess since i was quite young and 30 years later i am still playing although not so good now. My highest rating over the board was around 2100 elo. Have always loved chess computers and my first was the fidelity excellence from the 1980's, my top computer now is the Lyon 68020 in munchen board which i have had since new . I have now decided i want to collect some computers and also to try and find ones i have had in the past like the mephisto polgar and vancouver.
Regards
Ian.
