Thanks to Stefan, the english version of both Novag printer and clock manuals are on my site (as well as German versions of Turbo King and Turbostar 432 manuals).

no, I don't.... I don't even know if there is one. I have a printer with the box in good shape but without manual. And there are some explainations in the Super Expert's manual.

Best,
Alain

Alain,

oh yes there is a manual and I guess I have two of them in english and in German. I need to dig them up.

best regards

Hi Robert,

I plug both the standard adapter and the 24V adapter in the Super Expert : there is a small metallic plug between the switch and the usual plug, it is for the 24V adapter.
I suppose that the 24V goes directly to the printer via its cable.

Ok, i understand!

Alain,

yesterday I examined the printer and super forte and I found out (surprisingly) exactly the same. Now I know what the spare power supply was for...strange though that it is not mentioned in the manual of the super forte to use two power supplies.

The manual of the printer I dont`t have...do you

Wait a minute, Alain; did i understand you right, that you run the Super Expert with 24 V, when the printer is plugged in?

Can this work? This is nearly 3x more than the SE normally needs!

If yes, then i wonder, that the voltage regulator of the SE survived this!

Sorry, i don't have the printer, so i don't know, how to connect and operate it!

Alain,

truth to be told I only unpacked the stuff last monday...I did not have the time to test it all yet...I only switched the computers on to see if they work...
I'll check the printer today...and the Super forte too.
Hope I find a 24V power supply in my mess

Keep you posted.

Hey Alain,

what power supply My printer has got no socket where I could plug in a power supply...the only hole which I can find is the one for the connection with the chess computer. Are there different versions of the printer?

Christian

Thanks a lot Christian,

well, a few weeks later, I bought another printer with the cable... and then a few months later, a friend gave me another cable, so now I have two printers and two cables  (with only one power supply)

So I did not have to try to make a cable... that's probably better because I would have probably failed, I am a software guy, and hardware impaired

Thanks again,
Best,
Alain

Thanks a lot Mike !

I hope the "large box" only hides wires and not additional components.

In the first case, I should be able to make one (or have a very good friend of mine make one for me).

Thanks again,
Alain

Mike/Alain,

Plese let me know when you get this done, I could put up a page with instructions and pictures to help others build their own cable.

Bonjour Alain

This is the link to an earlier thread on this question :-

http://users.boardnation.com/~chesscomputers/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=265

I think you may need to get a cable made up. My guess is that it is a straightforward job but I will get my cable out and take it apart this evening, if nobody else beats me to it.

Original cables seem to be in short supply.

All the best
Mike

Hello,

I've recently bought a Novag Printer (and a clock too) for my Constellation Forte and Super Expert C...
I knew the Printer would come without Power Adapter but it seems that I need something else to connect it to my computers
the connector of the printer is 8-10 cm wide,
the connector of the Forte is 3-4 cm wide.

As I knew Dick got a printer with his Super Expert C, I went back to ebay and saw a special connector close to his printer :

I have checked at Niggemann but they don't sell this kind of cable.
Does anybody know where I could buy one ? Or is it really too old ?
It is probably not too difficult to make one, does anybody have the schemas ?

Thanks in advance,
Best,
Alain
