Have you looked inside your Prodigy? I wondered if you can adjust the sensors? I shall be trying to find out why my Mini Master does not work.

No, I haven't looked inside. What is really strange is that it does not have working squares and non working squares but every square functions randomly.
Sometime, I can enter the "from" square by pressing on the piece and need to enter the "to" square by hand

It was a big shame that we missed out on those DGTs.

yes  In fact, I don't know how long it took them to sell all the units they had. May be just a few hours ?

Best,

It is perfect outside, the only problem is that the squares sensors do not always work and you have to enter manually the moves.

This is my Prodigy, though the photos have been taken down now.

The latest auction of a (not well working) one was at 155,--

My german is not very good but as far as I have understood : a new one has been sold for 152 (http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5222605070) and I bought the one with a few problems (http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5224392881) for 45,50 ...

It is perfect outside, the only problem is that the squares sensors do not always work and you have to enter manually the moves.

Best,
Alain

Hello,

I know the guy who owns the RARE Destiny Prodigy well. He told me the serial number is 104623.

Hello Mike,
Looking at the two machines the only difference I can find is the absence of the name Prodigy on the front of the Mini Master.

I wonder if it is the case that the Destiny Prodigy is just the US version and the Mini Master is the German version? Is there more to it than that?

IIRC this is exactly how it is! There should be a slightly improved "S"-version of the Destiny/Prodigy, but I don't know, what the improvements were...

The Applied Concepts Destiny Prodigy and the Destiny Mini Master date from 1980-1983. They are unusual (unique?) in that input can be by using the plug sensory pieces or by keying in the moves using the keypad. There is a Prodigy Destiny currently for sale on Ebay :-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5228554686&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I have one of each machine. Sadly the Mini Master does not work, at the moment.

The machines I have are virtually identical. The serial numbers are close -  110601 and 104761. The boxes are identical. Only the manuals are signicantly different, because the Prodigy manual I have is in English and the Mini Master was distributed by Sandy Electronics from Munich and the manual was produced by them in German.

Looking at the two machines the only difference I can find is the absence of the name Prodigy on the front of the Mini Master.

I wonder if it is the case that the Destiny Prodigy is just the US version and the Mini Master is the German version? Is there more to it than that?

Mike
