This book is a computer chess classic Bernhard. I have a copy. Like many other people I had the dream to write my own chess program, but the learning curve is steep. It is good that it is available on the internet for everyone. Thank you.

All the best

Continuing with our “educational series” on the subject, as suggested by GM Mike Watters, here's a historical paper related to chess and computers. Worth saving for reading later.

From the great Claude Shannon, it's a proposal on how to program a computer to play chess. Date? March 1950!!

Enjoy it!

Warning: long article (14 pages!)
Here's the link to the complete paper as published in Philosophical Magazine, Ser.7, Vol. 41, No. 314 - March 1950.
