I only have the French version. You can get it at http://www.zanchetta.net/echecs/default.aspx?page=documentations.aspx

I have scanned the german manual of my Avant Garde (versions 2-11). Do you want me to mail it to you? You can convert it into pdf and place it on your download-page, if you want. It is in TIF-format, about 6 MB.

John

There should be someone around who has an Fidelity Elite Avant Garde manual. But if all else fails many manuals can be bought here :-

http://www.classicchessandgames.com/InstructionBooklets.htm

including the Avant Garde.

    Hi,

Well, that's an idea, thought the logistics are not quite so simple to implement.

Yes, it would may be require too much work for a small result :
    • Our websites are available most of the time
    • They are not "critical"
    • And Ismenio and I are using totally different technologies. Ismenio is a "anything but Microsoft" guy  , and I am a Microsoft guy  . Several sections of my site are generated dynamically (docs, collection) and I'm thinking of moving further in that direction... Trying to duplicate pages in this context would be a bit difficult.

Of course, the manuals themselves are not generated on the fly, but I don't see now an easy way to duplicate them automatically (as Ismenio, I don't always have time to do the updates I would like on my site).

John, what is the manual you were looking for ? In fact, my portal site is down (I hope it will be back today) but the storage site is still there and I could give you the URL to the manual.

    Best,
    Alain

Well, that's an idea, thought the logistics are not quite so simple to implement. When you say mirror, I think you're referring to a duplicate of a page/site right?

I can see the value of that when some times are heavily hit and face bandwidth issues. I will let Alain comment on that. I'm willing to help in anyway, as long as I don't take traffic away from him. I wouldn't mind hosting something like his CEBoard page or the manuals one if is a true copy approved by him, i.e., with his "logo" and look and feel so that visitors could see that this is a "backup" of his site.
As of now, I still haven't found any time to update mine so that's another thing to consider.

    What do you think Alain?

Ismineo & Alain, why don't you guys form a partnership to mirror each other's data, more specifically manuals?
This morning I went to download a manual from Alain's website and it was down. If you two had the same files us, the users, would have an option to go to when experiencing a downtime like this.
    Think about it.

    btw: Good job you guys.
