Hi Ismenio,

how is the kingsize of the tasc pieces? May be i can offer a set of chesspieces which is equal to yours one (without magnet).

As i know the place which is used by the circuitry is aproximately 3 mm.

Please contact me.

best regards
Uli

Thanks for the reply guys. I will check it with Uli and also I forgot to ask, do you know how much of the piece is taken by the circuitry? I am assuming that it should be safe to cut the top of the "towers"

Hi Ismenio,

Quote from: Ismenio on October  7, 2005, 05:01PM

After trying a couple of ideas to fix the cosmetic flaw in two of my Tasc pieces (the top of the Rooks, 1-white and 1-black) I'm thinking of buying wooden pieces that look very close to the original Tasc and try to "cut and past" only the top of the pieces!

1. What do you think of this idea, or do you have suggestions?
2. What pieces do you suggest I use?

Thanks,

Ismenio

Interesting idea!!

I remember, that Uli Wehling offers replacement pieces (with normal magnets, no piece recognition!) in Staunton and Bohemia-format on www.schachcomputer-oldieladen.com. I think the Bohemia-pieces look very similar to my Tasc-pieces! (couldn't find any fotos about them anymore on his site...)

His Bohemia-pieces are black and so are my Tasc-pieces.

Maybe you can contact him and ask about this! He offers to send pics!

best,
Robert

P.S.: If they are not 100% like the original, you could "cut and paste" all four rooks! I'm sure, only absolute Tasc-experts will see the difference!

Hi Ismenio

This is a tough one. The Tasc rooks are distinctive and unusual. I am not sure that I have seen anything similar.
I will keep looking though.
