Hi Christopher

Yes, that makes sense! There's all kinds of questions, trades, etc. happening behind the scenes via emails or private messages That's completely normal. I was referring more to common questions that I think others could benefit from if the subject was discussed publicly. For one thing, we would have the "knowledge base" saved here for future reference. I myself sometimes go to early posts in search of an answer for something that we talked about here

As for the age, to be honest, I never paid attention to that! The only curiosity I had was regarding where the collectors could be found (Geographically). Now I know they're all over the place! I'm 38 and I bought my first chess computer about a year and a half ago and that's when I got "infected"! I have made many sacrifices to get some of the models I have and I truly wish they were more affordable and available so others could have access to them. I really like the sense of community and friendship that runs in this circle!

And it seems we're being successful here despite the fact that I'm in the middle of this! LOL!

To beat a chess computer, unplug it.

Hi Mr. Sousa,

What you said has relevance aplenty, although some topics can continue on two-way email if only because both parties know that absolutely no one else might be able to provide a helpful perspective (winks).  Gosh, it's so easy to forget that aside from a diversity of computer holdings amongst all of us collectively, there also exists a diversity of ages!  Is there anyone on this forum NOT older than 25? =)

Hi All,

You may have noticed that the main page shows a count of only 2 members and that you canít see the profile pages past beyond the initial page (with about 20 members or so). I have a ticket open with Boardnation to look at that. I know weíre now past 70 members!

Also, I have mentioned this before but since I got some emails from visitors who seem to be a little intimidated I want to state publicly again that this is a very open forum where all are welcome, no matter how green you are or how many chess computers you have Ė even if you have none! The members are always helpful and willing to answer questions way better than I can on my own with my limited experience. So even though Iím happy to reply to emails, keep in mind that others may have the same questions you have and could also benefit from getting multiple answers with different viewpoints.

Another aspect of that is that because of my work and other projects I have, I donít have as much time as I used to in the past so it may take longer for me to get back to you.

Regards

Ismenio
