You are in a unique position Christian! Like Mike said, it's hard to find extra pieces out there!

I have one CC3 without pieces and I wish I had something I could tempt you with

Congrats!

Hi Mike / Ismenio

As ever many thanks for your responses, which made my day!

3 sets of original CC1/CC3 pieces and only a single CC3 to use them with! - LOL perhaps I could trade a spare set in exchange for the illusive CC1 itself!

Thanks again chaps!

Best wishes

Hi Chris

As Ismenio says, both sets definitely look like they are the original CC1/CC3 pieces. The rooks and especially the knights are very distinctive. They are not so easy to find. There seem to be more CC1s and CC3s around than original sets of pieces. Well done!! You seem to have 3 sets if the ones with the Boris are the same.

If you wanted to swap a set for something, you could probably find a person with a shortage of CC1/CC3 pieces.

The Boris pieces are plastic with magnets similar to the Sargon 2.5 etc pieces, like these on Alain's site :-

All the best

Hi Chris,

So you got both sets? Wow!
I can't quite look at mine right now as they are boxed and packed (I'm trying to re-arrange things to get more space!) but from your pictures, I would almost dare say they both are!! I've see pieces for the CC1/CC3 (they are same, except for Dick's famous plastic ones) and I have seen small variations which could explain the differences between the ones on your picture. Just a first observation. I'm sure others will comment on that.

In any case, congratulations!

Great pictures by the way!

Hi All,

The vendor of my CC3 kindly sent two sets of pieces as he wasn't sure which were the original set

I have included pictures of some of the pieces from both sets (before anyone gets excited, neither are plastic!  ).

For my own piece of mind, can anyone help me confirm which are the original CC3 pieces?  Both piece sets look very similar though Kings are different and colour of black pieces differ (one is black and the other is brown).

I think the original pieces are those at the bottom, but if so given they look very similar does anyone have any idea where the other pieces come from?

This puzzle made me take a closer look at the pieces with my other computers (didn't take long, I don't have many!  ). However, the interesting thing is that my Boris has exactly the same pieces as those shown above (ie those I think are for the CC3). I guess Fidelity didn't provide the pieces for other manufacturers (and Ismenio's Boris pictures appear to show a different piece set), so pieces and computers must have been swapped/mixed up some time since original purchase?

Thanks for any thoughts or observations.

Best wishes
