Thanks Ismenio.  If you're ever offered a Novag Adversary that you're not interested in yourself, please let me know.  I'm prepared to spend a ridiculous amount on one.

Hi 64squares (I love your forum ID )

I don't that information. If this serves as any indicator I've seen 4 of them available within the past year. 2 on eBay, sellers and buyers in Europe and 2 were offered to me privately. 1 from a seller from Europe and 1 from the US just a month or so ago (there's a thread some where in the back where you can find the info).

I contacted the buyer and told him about our forum but it seems he's very reclusive and maybe shy, like many collectors it seems.

It may be a good thing I don't have one, as I would have to play with it and not just keep it as a display piece!

Regards,

Ismenio

That does move very quickly doesn't it?  Seeing it in action, I'm sure it's a lot of fun to play against but considering how incredibly rare and expensive they are it's one you'd probably just want to look at and not touch.   I remember reading they had production problems on these and not many were sold in the states because of all the problems.  I wonder if more were sold in Europe.  Anyone know?

Thanks for the link Alain! And thank you and Steve for making that available!
I finally had a chance to see it working. It moves faster than what I thought it would!

The only thing I noticed that was a little strange was the sound of the engines. I wonder if that is what it sounded like when it was brand new.

Best Regards,

Ismenio

No, I don't have that robot and there's no video of it out there. (That I've seen)

Steve made a few videos recently :

But here's where you can get more information on it:

- http://schachcomputer.at/rarrobot.htm (German)

- This is the personal page of Stephen Brosseau who worked on the project of the Novag Robot: http://www.sbrosseau.com/

Does anyone know a band called Alphawezen? Well, what's the connection between them and chess computers? Or, with the Novag robot? Check this out:

http://www.holophon.com/en/disco/hphon0062.html

Whoever they are, here's what's on the cover of their latest CD, en passant:

You can play snippets (RealPlayer) of the tunes.

And for our German friends, here's the version in your language:
