Thanks for the advice!  I recently bought a 6100 as well and it's on the way (unfortunately it's missing the pawn promotion caps, but it does have all the pieces).

Hi Michael and welcome!

Mike covered it well. I hope you find the pieces.
Keep on the watch for pieces from a Novag Emerald Classic Plus! There was a Phantom sold on eBay that had those pieces instead of the original and it seems like they did the job.

Recently I bought an MB Grandmaster but unfortunately the previous owner misplaced all the pieces (she said she'd look for them but she hasn't found them yet).  I'm wondering if I can use the pieces from a Fidelity Phantom 6100?  And this is probably a real long shot, but does anyone know of where I might be able to get replacement pieces for the Grandmaster?  Thanks so much in advance!

Michael

Hi Michael

The good news is that the pieces for the MBs and Phantoms are the same. The bad news is that they are not easy to come by separately from the chess computer, unless of course you have a source for the Phantom pieces?  There are some alternative pieces which have been tried by people posting here. The main requirements are that the pieces be light, have narrow bases and fairly strong magnets. There are old threads which go into this but I am not sure if there was a definite conclusion.

All the best
Mike
