Hello Alain,  I am looking for a fidelity impact printer for a chess challenger 12 and/or sensory voice.  Any ideas?

Thanks, D

1510 Euros

That i really call crazy!!!

But the best is: the IMPOS-boards seem to be very poorly made!!

I have seen one on a video from Hein Veldhuis, which he made at Karsten Bauermeisters museum. Karsten said, that he was very disappointed about this board! (you could see that some crooked screws underside)

They look nice, but i would say, they are overpriced (especially for 1510 Euros!  )

Christian, what can you say about your board? (maybe Karsten simply got a bad model)

Robert

Robert,

I think my board ist somewhat different from the one which has been sold recently (you see pictures on Ismenio's site with the Resurrection inside)...but I also bought it from Frau Schebitz...interesting. I remember as I won the auction I asked her some questions concerning the origin of this board (manufacturer etc), but she said that she had no additional info.

The wood of the board and the pieces are of high quality. It is real fun to play with it...I am used to tournament size as an active chess player, and this Impos is slightly bigger than the Munich or Bavaria board (both are NOT tournament size)...
The electronics inside my Impos is poorly implemented...it looks to me like somebbody dismanteled an ol Mephisto board an put all the stuff in the new board. I had already one of the Reed Contacts simply fallen off (thx Deutsche Bundespost )...but it was easy to fix this problem.
But I had to open it then, and the look inside made my eyes water...happily it works fine now

So it is not a MUSTHAVE dear Mike, but if you stumble upon one for a fair price (below 500 Euros), get it because the board is great to look on an playing is real FUN.
1500 Euros is way too much...better rip apart an old Exclusive board and go to a carpenter and tell him what you want...

Alain

Thanks for the link x2

That is an amazing price. I can remember Martin and Steve paying around 450 Euros, also from Frau Schebitz I think. The most I saw one go for was 905 Euros?

This has to be an MMII record.

I have just looked for it in the completed listings and still can't find it. Do you have the link? For spectator interest only.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8768016246 (it was just below your message  )

The strange thing about Impos Royal in my database is that four have been sold by one seller and three by another (who have bought one of the impos sold by the first seller)  Do they build them

Alain I did not even know there was an Impos Royal being sold.

Rest assured though, I doubt whether I will ever compete for one of those boards. Though now I know Christian has one I could change my mind.

Hi Alain

How did you do?

Was the Saturday one the Sandy Morphy Encore?

Mystic Chris got his guess right. So now I have two Chess Partner 3000s heading in this direction. Surely one of them will be OK.

All the best

Alain
Saturday you say. That is great I can get away for a short break.

Yet another Chess Partner 3000, Chris? Very shrewd. So far these have always arrived in Milton Keynes already opened, just requiring me to shovel them into the dustbin.    But I live in hope.

Maybe my luck has changed because this is the very same Chess Partner 3000 I missed doing the washing up the other day.

All washed up regards

I have 8 printers between 20 Euros and 40 Euros for an average of 32 Euros, and 10 clocks with prices between 15 and 45 Euros, two of them bought by simarqui

Alain

Alain,

yes I know these clocks are everywhere in my house
But still the guy who wants to get rid of his stuff only sells the package including printer and clock.

He still has got a prestige but I couldn't talk this machine out of him...but I keep on trying

Merci beaucoup,

Here is a recent Super Forte A+C :

And a Forte B :

I have 8 printers between 20 Euros and 40 Euros for an average of 32 Euros, and 10 clocks with prices between 15 and 45 Euros, two of them bought by simarqui

Hope this helps,

Hi Alain,

sorry to bother you again but I need some info out of your database.

This time it is a Novag Super Forte B plus printer and clock, apparently everything with box and mint.

Was there anything similiar offered recently?

Thx,

Christian

Hi Jose,

Of course you can use any info from the site!
I think sharing information is great and personally I like it when we link to each other as a “chess computer web ring”. That way people looking for different types of information can get it by browsing through our sites.

I’ll try to send you all the info I have on saved auctions (and anyone who wants it) but I need some time as they are archived and currently I have very little spare time
So it is taking me a while to attend requests. Even for manuals.

On that topic, especially if Alain is reading this, let me know who is going to be the first to get a “book scanner!” That would take care of us digitizing our manuals! I recently had to make a copy of the English part of the Excalibur GM and it wasn’t easy due to the way the pages are bond.

So, let’s see who is going to buy one of these (I think it’s only $35,000.00 )
It's pretty cool! It turns the pages automatically and without any damage to the chess computer manual... or any book

From: http://www.atiz.com/

Gutenberg would be proud!
