Tom,
your message has been received, carefully read and the manual has been thoroughly send
Enjoy your B&P (hail and kill)!
Christian

Killed I have not, but I have at least printed it - which proved to be quite a job - when I wanted to continue (double-sided) with  22, 24, 26 ... 34, and had  to instruct the printer to start with no. 19 and print all the odd-numbered pages
But yes, I managed.
Thanks a lot!! May the day come soon when I'll be able to repay you!!
Best regards,
tom

Tom,

in most cases the problem will be found between the ears of the user (in my case it is almost a 100% hit)...

I did not scan the manual myself, and I checked out only the first page. I do not know whether the order of the pages was mixed up somehow...the magic pf paperwork

V11 regards

Christian

Hi Christian,

Long ago, when I daily commuted between Amsterdam and a province called Gelderland, I used to think the train was frequented by Germans.

later i discovered they were not Germans, but inhabitants of the most southern provice of The Netherlands, named Limburg.

Which only goes to say that German could just be another dialect of the ancient Dutch language.

Best regards,

tom

...or vice versa...

Anyway as a youth when I usually bought my drugs in A-Town, I made the experiance that German is understood everywhere in your strange country which is constantly under the menace of the Ocean!

C.

PS: As I said you will receive the manual next week...and now: off to Italy

Tom,

I just talked to my collegue....the manual is in German only.

Will this pose you a problem (I know you are from the Netherlands, so you probably manage to do some of your big neighbours language )?

Nice game!  Good attack against the black king! I wish I played them like that!
You don't accidentally have a copy of the manual somewhere, do you? In that case I could pit the B&P against a few other nachines - such as the GK2000, which I received today.
Best regards,
tom

If anyone could send me JPEG, TIFF, PDF or other copies of the B&P manual, I would be very much obliged.
Best regards,
Tom

Tom,

I can send you a copy of the manual, of course...
Do you want it via email or do you want hard facts (paper)...?

For both you would have to wait until next week since I will be off to Italy this afternoon just until Sunday

Voir Venice....et mourir!

All the best,

Christian

Thanks Christian, I think you're absolutely right! So the good news is that the Overtom Collection has now reached the number 184, which is 2x3x3x3x3. Not that this is relevant, but computer programmers seem to notice silly details like this.
The B&P can be seen at http://www.xs4all.nl/~tluif/chescom/EngMephB&P.html
Best regards,

I wonder if anybody is already capable of identifying this module. I can hardly put it on the Internet with no more identification than "Mephisto Modular", can I?

I almost forgot this thread. Sorry.

I think Mike is right. Just for fun, I downloaded the image of the B&P, cut the section with the module and zoomed in and comparing the result to Tom's picture they seem to be the same:

We were pretty sure that it is a B&P, on account that it and the MMs are the only ones that have that keyboard layout. The MMs have what they are written on them, eg

http://www.schachcomputer.at/mm2.htm

whereas the Blitz and Problem module (B&P) is naked -

Tom, this may be a long shot but did you try to check Steve's pictures to see if it shows up there?

Tom/Mike,
oh stupid me...yes you are both right...all the well behaving modules of the MM series have their name printed on top!
So it has to be a B&P!
But I will check it out by myself anyway...
Christian

Mike,
it is next weekend when Ruud comes...
I feelmyself waiting for Christmas on may...and time simply does not pass.
