Hey Mike,

I'd like the offer of the Acetronic if i am the first to ask ??>

Thanks

Ian.

Ian it's yours. I'll post it tomorrow.

Hint - If you are watching a particularly good TV programme, and you go a piece or two down, it's a sucker for a back rank mate.

Mike

Some sellers on Ebay push their luck. I suppose the most persistent and determined was  "wunderfee69" and his Sensory Voice Challenger for 500-700 Euros. Whatever happened to that?
Anyway here is a real optimist looking for a newbie or someone fresh from a Christmas party :-

The chess computer might normally sell for $5 - $10 on a good day. It is a Scisys product from 1980 which comes in various guises including Novag, Acetronic, Tandy, Prinztronic......
Here is one for 4.99 Buy-It-Now :-

and another starting at 1 Euro :-

Will he sell the Tandy?
Mike

PS - If any member here wants one (an Acetronic) free let me know and it is yours for the cost of postage. Good working condition, complete in box. First come first served.

They are indeed a familiar type -- although the Overtom Collection has only three of them:

Acetronic Chess Traveller:

Scisys Intercontinental Traveler:

Tandy's Computerized Chess:

I remember seeing a German collector with a cabinet with twenty or so of  of this type. I've stopped tryoing to get more of them. After all, isn't space a precious commodity as well?

Best regards,

tom
