Forum activities - almost one year!

Folks, it was back in Feb 7, 2005 that I was just experimenting with boards and posted the first, shy message here ( http://tinyurl.com/caa6t ). I really had no idea if that would even work given the number of people really interested in chess computers but closing the year I'm really surprised to see 94 registered members! By the way, finally the count and the list of members are working.

I was going to post a summary year-in-review of some of the interesting stuff we talked about here but unfortunately I don't have time for that. I do remember some highlights like the Novag Robot that was offered to me and I shared here and was sold in record time, being contacted by a former Fidelity employee, some interesting acquisitions and stories, etc.

Unfortunately, my schedule has kept me away from the site, forum and even checking eBay.
I hope to be able to do more in 2006 and hope that it will be a very successful year in chess computers for everyone! Seeing more sites popping up and more people interested is definitely a good sign. Even the frapper map ( www.frappr.com/chesscomputers ) has now 26 citizens!
Interesting to see activities in Brazil, Australia, Spain, Poland, etc.

Just looking at the calendar, we're approaching the 30th anniversary of the release of the very first chess computer, the Fidelity CC1 ( http://www.ismenio.com/chess_cc1.html ) and it's good to see that even with the PC dominating the scene, there's still a place for dedicated chess computers.
