Hello Christian,

good to hear that there is a solution! I cannot see exactly yet how to produce the Corel-file. It would be great if you could share your experience here once you have gone through the process.

Best wishes, Gerhard

Hello Gerhard,

the problem with the logos, letters and chess symbols is solved. Look at http://www.drucker-onkel.de. This company has a very interesting service. They provide decal printing in white color. You have to give them a Corel-File and they print it on decals. Then you transfer this decals on the chess computer and varnish about three times. After that your computer is perfect!

Best Regards

Hi,

a very interesting restauration project. I have been thinking for along time to do the same to my ARB-board but refrained from doing so because I cant solve the problem of how to replace the logo and the chess symbols and letters after the board has been sanded. I think that for good restauration the board has to be sanded. If anyone has a suggestion how to solve this I will be grateful. I have successfully in the past done a restauration to a Renaissance board but the problem does not exist here because the board has no letters or logos...

Best wishes to all, Gerhard

Hi,

sorry about my late answer! I visited the CeBIT in Hannover.

The Prestige is on the way to Germany! I will report about the state, when the computer arrives.

I´m going to restore the Prestige. For that the Prestige will be completly taken to pieces and the wooden parts will be treated by my cabinet-maker. An other optimation will be the Led-Set. I will completly change the Led´s.

After this procedure I hope, that the Prestige will be in an perfect condition. Naturally I will show the photos of my little project in this forum soon.

Prestige Regards

Yes congratulations Christian. The seller sent me photos. I think because I asked some nosey questions. It turned out to be a good working machine and a very reasonable price.

It will be of interest to know what program is in this machine. Judging from Kurt's Rarities page there are a number of possibilities.

A beautiful Avantgarde, a MachIII and a Super Forte C with Printer and clock...everything with original box and in mint condition...I just need to talk the Prestige out of this guy.

is it from a guy named "Robert" ? A few weeks ago, I received a mail from a Robert from Gatineau, Québec "offering" a AvantGarde, a Mach III and a CB6... and he also had a Super Forte, a clock, a printer and an Expert

the computers on the pictures seemed indeed in perfect shape !

Best regards,

Alain

All the best,

Wow that is good going and beautiful chess computers too. I have lost 4 pounds in two weeks and wasted a lot of money on a Novag Robot.

Good to hear that all is well. It will be no time before he is taking your chess computers apart.

Whoaaa soldier. That angry smiley does not work.

Having just spent 2 hours replacing two reed switches on an ARB, I was thinking perhaps the Prestige is also mendable. I have sent the seller a nosey question and will PM you anything I find out.

Hoping Jonas, mum and dad doing well.
Best regards
Mike

But this auction makes me suspicious...the seller has got everything he needs to test this board, but still he says he cannot guarantee that it functions...nothing even for itchy credit cards

I sense someone in Quebec getting an itchy credit card.

There is another Prestige being offered on Kurt's Forum. Offers over 1950 Euros welcome.

Good luck
Mike
