Whoops !! My eyes were seeing things. I thought the white pawns were a nasty stain on the manual.

OK guys I can see that is stupid now. What a weird auction.

Dick, he didn't have a buy it now at first. I got paranoid + add that to me waking up and going right there to cause a mess!
First I thought it was a complete Chesster, then I saw it was the pieces but I thought it was a complete set. So I didn't want him to be able to terminate the auction early if someone offered a deal. He can't do that if bids have started (not as easy!)

But reflecting on it, who would do that!? Maybe if he had the full computer. However, it makes you wonder about the "full working Chesster" he'll list later on. Will it have a "missing only the b+w pawns and manual?" I don't think so (that would be just wrong!) but don't you feel like visiting that warehouse now?

Ismenio,

This all makes sense to me now, especially the part about just waking up and getting on the computer.  I was especially groggy this morning and so am happy that you were the first one to "mess" up on this.

Yes, I would have loved to been able to purchase the warehouse stuff he bought.  They also just put up a Novag Diamond and Excalibur Karpov 2294 on eBay.

I was told, originally by the seller and not the eBay broker, that he did have a Chesster 6126 but it didn't work.  I don't know if they got it fixed or what.  I tried to purchase the pieces from it but had no luck in doing so.

It will be interesting to see what happens from here on.

Hi Mike,

I should have come here first! I saw that one and just bid on it, You'll also see my first bid retraction ever! If I get it, it's for one of you as that's what I was thinking about! Actually, I was thinking about Dick and just didn't want someone to jump in and close the auction with a deal. But once again, I was too quick! I didn't realize it was only 8 black pawns until it was too late! Anyway, my correct bid is not that high so if you see anyone outbid be and you still want it, go for it as I won't go any higher.

Hi guys,

I just saw the auction you are referring to, and it is for both the 8 black *and* the 8 white pawns.  I am not certain what to think of this.  I don't want to have just the pawns, and forever be looking for the pieces.  I wonder if they are teasing us by selling them separately.

I will be watching, but probably won't bid unless there is no more bidding.

Was there a Buy It Now price on it originally?

Mike, you need these more than I do, so go ahead and bid as I really don't want these all that much.

Good morning all.

The man with the stash of Phantoms has put a taster for the Chesster Phantom on Ebay. It is only 8 black pawns and two manuals, but it has my interest. Why? Just like Dick I have a set which is not complete but in this case it is short of two black pawns. Well it doesn't have the crowns either, of course.

If anyone else is after some black Phantom or MB pawns maybe a deal would be a good idea. Thanks to Dick I do not need the Chesster manual, or the Phantom manual for that matter.

All the best
Mike
