Hello Arcadejay

If you wish, your 1966 FG could be advertised at no charge in the Clubs magazine.

The recovery P&T exemption that you are talking about is phrased "Breakdown Vehicles with permanently fixed lifting gear which are only used to lift & tow causality vehicles." If VOSA do a roadside stop, and their assessment is that you are not complying with that requirement, then you can imagine what they could do.

To go into the FOR SALE section in the magazine, we would need a shorter description, just one overall photo, the general location, i.e. county, and your phone number.

If you email this to morriscommercialclub@hotmail.co.uk I will forward it on to the Clubs magazine editor.

Regards

Nigel

my Morris FG recovery truck. This was bought with the intention of restoring back to its former glory. It is fitted with a Harvey frost style crane/winch on the back. It has been stood for a couple of years. unfortunately I have lost my storage so it now needs to be sold. I went up to the truck and put a jump pack on and it started straight away with no smoke I have a video of the engine running if I can work out how to add it. I will try and charge the battery up and see if it will start on its own battery. As you can see by the pic's it needs a good clean. The cab needs some repair and welding to the floor in the normal places. It is MOT and tax exempt as it is classed as a Breakdown truck. I have owned the vehicle for 7 years. The clutch is stuck at the moment but have been told this is common when the vehicle has been unused for a time. it was twin wheels on the rear axle.  I have a few pictures at the moment for some reason the camera deleted some of the pic's so will take some more ASAP. the mileage on the speedo I cant guarantee that its correct but as it is MOT exempt I have no record to refer to. this would make a great classic recovery vehicle with a little time and money. I would recommend viewing the truck I have had a quick look at the chassis and it still looks to be in good condition but only had a quick look.
